Wickers in action during The First World War

Caithness Voluntary Group
Books, Manuscripts
Between the 3rd-6th August 1914 young Wick men voluntarily enlisted in the military. Celebratory marches from the Drill Hall in Dempster Street and the Customs House on Shore Road, saw 95 men and 5 officers depart for the front, many never to return. Over the next 4 years hundreds more fought. This booklet will touch upon the lives of a few.
